Description: This 130,000 square foot laboratory and classroom building addition is designed for a LEED silver certification. The scope of design included a central plant geothermal hybrid HVAC system. Six ground water wells feed water to both a water cooled chiller and to individual water source high efficiency heat pumps. The design also included exhaust air heat recovery, building makeup air, emergency power distribution and a security management system. Also included as a part of this project are two wind turbines, solar panels, green roof garden and other leading edge technology throughout the facility. A new direct digital temperature system handles all building instrumentation and controls.
